O Governo da República do Botswana (“GRB”) e o Grupo De Beers (“De Beers”) têm o prazer de anunciar a conclusão bem-sucedida das negociações centradas no estabelecimento de um novo acordo de vendas para a produção de diamantes brutos de Debswana, bem como na extensão das licenças de mineração de Debswana para além de 2029. Este desenvolvimento está em alinhamento com os Termos dos Chefes acordados em 30 de setembro de 2023.
A Debswana, uma joint venture 50:50 entre a GRB e a De Beers, opera várias minas de diamantes importantes no Botswana: Jwaneng, Orapa, Letlhakane e Damtshaa.
Após a emissão de novas licenças de mineração pelas autoridades reguladoras apropriadas no Botswana e as aprovações finais de governação, ambas as partes esperam assinar e executar os acordos relevantes. Até a assinatura destes novos acordos, os termos dos acordos existentes continuarão em vigor.
