O Grupo AD Ports assinou um acordo de acionistas com o Grupo CMA CGM, um player global em soluções marítimas, terrestres, aéreas e logísticas, através de sua subsidiária CMA Terminals, para desenvolver, gerenciar e operar em conjunto o terminal multiuso New East Mole em Pointe Noire, Congo-Brazzaville, para o qual o Grupo AD Ports recebeu uma concessão prorrogável por 30 anos em junho de 2023.
Com a assinatura, o AD Ports Group e o CMA CGM Group formaram uma joint venture, de propriedade majoritária do AD Ports Group, para desenvolver, gerenciar e operar o terminal multiuso New East Mole no Porto de Pointe Noire, que movimentará contêineres, cargas gerais, fracionadas e outros tipos de carga no maior porto atlântico do país da África Centro-Oeste.
Na altura em que obteve a concessão, o AD Ports Group disse que esperava investir cerca de 220 milhões de dólares (807 milhões de AED) para construir um cais de 400 metros a 16 metros de profundidade, além de uma área logística de 10 hectares, durante a Fase 1 do projecto.
Com este novo acordo, o AD Ports Group e o CMA CGM Group estão consolidando ainda mais sua parceria após a inauguração do CMA Terminals Khalifa Port em dezembro passado, um terminal de contêineres de AED 3,1 bilhões (US$ 845 milhões) que eventualmente expandirá a capacidade de contêineres do Porto Khalifa de 7,8 milhões de Unidades Equivalentes a Vinte Pés (TEUs) em 2024 em 33% ou 2,6 milhões de TEUs.
